Today we have an SEC match-up where So.Carolina travels to play
a tired Arkansas team. The Hogs have had to play in back to back weeks
Texas A&M at home and then Florida on the road.
So.Carolina has the 5th best overall offense in the SEC ... only behind
Texas A&M , Missouri , Georgia , and Lsu.
They have a well balanced attack as they average
215 yards per game on the ground and 261 through the air.
SC quarterback Connor Shaw has thrown 7 TDown passes
and no interceptions and has completed 69% of his pass attempts
so far this season in 5 games. He is also a threat to run, as he's a
very capable scrambler when he has to tuck it and run.
RB Mike Davis is the leading rusher in the SEC with 123 yards per game average.
He is 2nd in the SEC in all purpose yards per game with 159.
This is the Gamecocks first of a 3 game road trip. Their last road game
was against C.Florida, and they came away with a 3 point win.
So.Carolina is 26-5 SU in their last 31 games, however
4 of those 5 losses came on the road. But, SC has won 6 straight
road games against unranked SEC opponents, while Arkansas
has been outscored by an average of 22 points during a 5 game
losing streak to Top 25 opponents and 3 of those losses were at home.
Now 1-1 on the road this season, they know they have to pick up their
road efforts to a higher level if they want to come out of this
road trip and still be in contention in the SEC East Division.
Arkansas has given up an average of 282 yards per game through the air
in their last 3 games, so look for So.Carolina to air it out today.
